Encore

With the boom of digital music sales and decline of physical cd purchases, the nature of how music is delivered and consumed by us has shifted. Services like iTunes and Spotify make individual tracks more accessible than ever before, but this discourages us from experiencing an album the way it’s designed to be listened to: from beginning to end. It’s often a shame to only listen to one song from a carefully crafted album – it’s like only reading one chapter from a book. 

Encore takes the lyrical content of albums and reimagines them as visual narratives in a tactile book form. Three contemporary albums have been selected to pioneer this project. Each is explored with a unique visual treatment reflective of its themes and concepts. Encore is my way of bringing back the delivery of music in a physical form, and highlighting the depth and magic of the stories within them.
